An Update

These past few weeks have been a great reminder of why self-care is important.

This is what happened:

I had my notes all written up for the post and I just did not have the energy to post it. See, I work in a industry where not only is self-care important, it is vital to what I do. Sometimes I get carried away by the problems of others that I do not focus on myself. This is what happened last week. I got so caught up with work and the events leading up the holidays, that I did not take my own advice and slow down.

At first, I felt guilty that I would not complete the post like I had planned on. However, I knew that if I did not put myself first and take care of my mental exhaustion, I would not put out a post that I could be proud of.

Some may think it is selfish to put yourself first. And sometimes it is. However, when it comes to maintaining your health and well being, you are your biggest advocate. I have a future post planned in regards to self-care, so I will not delve too much into it right now, but I encourage you to put yourself first, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed and tired, like I was.

Simply Yours,

A. Leah

  1. So true! Self-care is an important lesson that I have only really taken to heart since having children (that personally emphasized it for me). I cannot wait to hear more from you on the subject!
