The Importance of Slowness

Thursday, March 17, 2016

Lately, I've had the overwhelming need to get so many things done. In my quest to get everything accomplished, I lost sight of enjoying life. See, I'll be moving in a few months and generally I like to get tasks done ahead of time. In its basic sense, I don't think getting things done in a timely manner is bad. However, I think it becomes a problem when we become so focused on our tasks that we lose sight of the imporyant things. Even when I was writing ideas for this post in my journal, I looked around my room a few times and thought about all of the things I still have to pack, donate, or throw away.

I don't want to be that person who loses sight of how wonderful life is because I'm too busy crossing things off my list.

Going along with this idea, I didn't write a blog post last week. I was having some health problems and I wanted to focus on myself and my relationship with my husband. I felt some guilt, but like I've talked about before, self care is important.

I know I'll be working on enjoying my life the way it is, although slightly cluttered, but full of wonderful experiences.
