Allis' Sun Tea Recipe

It might just be me, but sun tea tastes a little differently than tea that's made with boiling water. So that makes it a little more special to me than regular tea made on the stove and a nice reminder of past summer days.

Put 4 to 8 tea bags into a glass gallon container. Use 4 tea bags for a 2 quart container. Fill with water and tighten the lid. Place outside where the container can be in the sun for about 3-6 hours. If necessary, move the container to keep it in the sun. When the tea has reached the desired strength, put the container into the refrigerator and consume within a day or two. If you'd like, feel free to leave the tea bags in the container.

If you'd like to use loose tea, I usually put about 4 or 5 table spoons into a muslin bag (I like my tea strong). I also like to put a sprig of mint or a few slices of fresh cut oranges to add a little extra flavor.
